Sun Cluster 3.0 Admin command reference

A cluster, or plex, is a collection of loosely coupled computing nodes that provides a single client view of network services or applications, including databases, web services, and file services.

Sun cluster Admin Commands

Start the CCP Launch Pad – ccp cluster name

Interactively configure sun cluster – scsetup

Display the cluster patch number – showrev –p

Displaying sun cluster release and version information – scinstall –pv

Check the status of cluster components – scstat –p

List the cluster configuration information – scconf

View the cluster configuration – scconf –p

Verify the cluster configuration – sccheck

Shutdown the cluster (all nodes) – scshutdown –g0 –y

View the node status – scstat –n

Switch all resource group from one node to another node – scswitch –s –h nodelist

Boot cluster node from OK prompt – boot

Boot the cluster node in non cluster mode – boot –x

Check the status of cluster interconnect - scstat –w

Verify the cluster transport cable – scconf -p | grep cable

Verify the cluster adapter – scconf -p | grep adapter

Verify the cluster Junction – scconf -p | grep junction

Create NAFO (Network Adapter Fail Over )Group - pnmset -c nafo-group - create adapeter adapter

Verify the status of NAFO group – pnmstat –l

Add the adapter to the NAFO group - pnmset –c nafo-group –o add adapter

Identify whether the NAFO group is being used by any logical host or shared address resources – scrgadm –pv

Switch the logical host resource groups and shared address resource groups that
use this NAFO group - scswitch -z -g resource-group -h nodelist

Delete the NAFO group – pnmset –c nafo-group – o delete

Remove the adapter from the NAFO group – pnmset –c nafo-group –o remove adapter

Finding the active adapter in the NAFO group – pnmptor nafo0

Finding Adapter’s NAFO group – pnmrtop qfe0

Public network tunable parameters - /etc/cluster/pnmparams

Changing the cluster name – scconf –c –C cluster=clustername

Prevent new machine from being added to the cluster – scconf –a –T node=.

This will enable all the new machine to be added to the cluster – scconf –r –T all

Set date on ok prompt – date HHMMSS

Sync date with remote host – rdate hostname

Put node in Maintenance mode – scconf -c –q node=node, maintstate

Verify the cluster node state – scstat –q

Bring a cluster node out of maintenance mode - scconf –c –q node=node, reset

Shutdown the cluster – scshutdown -y –g0 grace period “ message”
